About Us
Welcome to Ferndale Elementary School. We are a small K-5 school set in the countryside between Milton-Freewater, Oregon, and Walla Walla, Washington. Our school is situated on just under 5 acres, with a science land lab, and our very own weather station. We have twelve classroom teachers plus specialists that teach Music, Band, Library, Physical Education, Reading, and English as a Second Language. There are two classes for every grade. Ferndale strives to maintain a warm, close, and inviting school atmosphere where every student feels welcome, challenged, and supported.

We have a very active Parent Teacher Organization. Their big project for the year is their Fall Fun Fair in October. It is a wonderful time to visit with other community members while enjoying good food and fun games with the children. Money from this project goes toward music equipment, school beautification, a walking track, and many other projects to benefit the kids.
Additionally, in the Spring, we partner with community members who demonstrate and share information about their particular specialty, for additional learning opportunities known as L.I.F.T (Learning Is Fun Too). In this way our students get to see the application of their learning in real life situations.
We welcome you to come and visit us and see what great things are happening here!
